Game development maestro Krafton declared on Friday that its acclaimed battle royale sensation, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has achieved a milestone with over 100 million registered users.

The adept developers also expressed that BGMI has successfully navigated its inaugural year as India’s most cherished gaming endeavour. “BGMI’s inaugural year stands as a triumph, with legions of participants immersing themselves in the game. We’ve orchestrated significant competitions, Indian-themed collaborations, and marked India-centric occasions with the community, all aimed at curating gameplay that resonates uniquely with our Indian user base,” articulated Changhan Kim, the Chief Executive Officer of Krafton, Inc., in an official statement.

Throughout the past year, proficient game developers have allocated nearly $100 million to enhance India’s local video game industry, esports, and entertainment startups to cultivate a robust gaming startup ecosystem. Krafton also unveiled plans for 2022, promising four professional and semi-professional tournaments (BMOC, the recently concluded BMPS Season 1, BGIS Season 2, and BMPS Season 2), boasting a collective prize pool of Rs 6 crore, and offering players across India a coveted stage to exhibit their gaming prowess.
